Cremains Burial Assistance
If a funeral home is not handling the graveside cremains burial, you can work directly
with our cemetery sexton to arrange this. The cost of the burial includes a small open/close fee
charged by our local contractor, who ensures all interment regulations are met. Our $250
fee for the ongoing care of the burial site is also included in the total fee
(see Prices).
To schedule a burial, please contact our sexton directly (see Contacts) with any questions or to confirm a date and time. Complete the Burial Plan form and mail it along with a check payable to "Rose Hill Cemetery." Alternatively, you can email LamoniRoseHillSexton@gmail.com with the requested information on the form. If possible, include a copy of the obituary and a photo of your loved one.
Please note: Our service is limited to opening and closing the grave. We do not provide service planning, tents, or chairs, although we do cover the dig site to make it respectable and safe. If you need to purchase a lot, the sexton can assist with that as well.

Updating Headstone Engravings
If a headstone exists but requires additional engraving for names, dates, or symbols,
the family may need to initiate the process. Start by checking with the monument company
that installed the headstone; they can confirm if final engravings were pre-paid. If this information
is unavailable, the funeral home involved in the original arrangements may have records.
Often, final engraving is not pre-paid, and costs typically range from $100 to $200 for a simple engraving.
Engraving is usually performed on-site by a specialist using portable sandblasting equipment. If the monument company lacks the necessary equipment, they may subcontract the work. Be aware that engraving can take several months. Monument companies may expedite the process by transporting the headstone to their facility. To ensure the work remains a priority, consider delaying final payment until completion.
Our Recommendation: Contact Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home (see Funeral Homes above), the main funeral home serving our cemetery, to request that it be added to the list of projects for the engraver’s next visit. Coordinating through them may result in quicker completion.
Finally, please email us at LamoniRoseHill@gmail.com to inform us of your arrangements, so we can stay updated.

Repairing Headstones
If your monument is level but off-center, contact the monument company that installed it to reset and reseal it during their next visit. This service may cost little or nothing. For leaning monuments, they might recommend replacing the foundation entirely, which can exceed $1,000.
The cemetery works with a local contractor to repair sunken, leaning, or toppled headstones in the oldest sections, funded by grants, donations, and limited cemetery funds. Families can also arrange to have their gravestones added to the repair list for a fee, often as low as $200. For less expensive solutions to level a leaning or sunken monument, you may contact:
Upright Gravestone Restoration, Stacy & Dan Dougherty

If you arrange for a repair, please email LamoniRoseHill@gmail.com to inform us, so we can keep track of the restoration efforts.
