At Rose Hill the term space refers to a single grave space for burial; the term lot is an individually numbered and plated rectangle that consists of one or more spaces depending on its size; the term plot has no particular meaning and can refer to a single grave or a collection of them depending on context (e.g., the family plot).
Lots consist of multiple spaces and are sold by the space at $525 each. Only one full sized vault burial is allowed per space, but multiple cremains can be buried in a one space. West side SECTIONS have 4 foot wide spaces and east side BLOCKS have 3½ foot wide spaces.
Although a couple need only one space for their burials if they will be cremated, most will buy two adjacent spaces to accommodate a mid-size monument for the couple. The monument and its foundation must be at least 3 inches away from the plot's borders. Thus, on a 3½ foot wide burial space only a 3 foot wide monument and foundation is allowed. Typically, the monument itself is not as wide as the foundation/pad on which it sits.
